Thing # 7

If you read the post Thing 5 and Thing 6 you will notice I did Thing # 7 also at that time. It was just cut off on the Title box.

Thing # 23

My favorite exercise was Web 2.0, there was so much to explore and hard to stop trying different websites. I also enjoyed Slideshare.

Sometimes I felt out of my depth but with a little encouragement, I got through the tougher parts.
I know my blog is not a bit fancy but then neither am I.

I would ceratinly like participate again if another discovery program is offered. I thank you for the opportunity to learn more about each and every one of these " things", my husband finally got the meaning of what I was doing when I said I was going to do my thing.

Thing # 22 Podcasts

Podcasts are fun to look at because of all the varities offered. 2009 Diet of the Year was one that interested me, it advertised a weight loss product called Acaiburn, sounded promising and heaven knows I need all the help available. This went well until the part promising the 30 day trial supply cost was just shipping for $1.95. UNTIL THE FINE PRINT THEY WOULS AUTOMATICALLY SEND 1 MONTH MORE FOR 54 GREEN ONES. Cancel that of course.

Then I went to Uncontrolled Vocabulary and NET NEBR.

It was all informative although I did not think I wanted to learn how to be a podcaster.

Thing # 21

I joined You Tube, watched library dominoes and the video T-Mobile dance. I think T-Mobile Dance was quite a hoot but guess I never did get what the gist of what they were rehearsing.

The use of You tube might be useful for library use for for training purposes.

Thing # 20 Discovering Web 2.0 tools

What a wealth of sources for information on everything. Good advertising and of course I couldn't resist some jokes on Craig's list. Craig's List is one I have heard about from a relative who seems to know everything and anything.

The premotional sites/tools were informative especially for employment, I'm sure they get a lot of interest.

Thing # 11 Technology

The technology today is changing so rapidy, if you don't keep on top of it, it can be a problem to try to absorb all the hows and why of everything. All in all I think technolgy is great even though I know just enough to get along.

This was published on 12/12/2008 on one of my other blogs.

Thing # 19 Apps, they're not just for desktops anymore

I was impressed by the technology of this program, not only can it be done multiple users using the same program but seems to have many web based applications that could prove to be very productive.

Thing # 15 Presentation go social-slideshare

I did all the he right things until I discovered I was not on a computer with power point and so here is the blog .

Do not be alarmed so many of the postings are today, I'm still tranferring the posts from the other blogs I invented.

Thing # 14 Tagging and social bookmarking

Holdrege Library has done an excellent job of bookmarking and tagging. It makes it easy to access about anything you like, even if you are not certain how to label it.

Thing # 12 Thing about LibraryThing

I created an account with LibraryThing, our library is available for online collection inventory. We do contact and are contacted to loan books and other materials to other libraries.

Thing # 13 Twitter Thing # 13 Twitter

I'm all atwitter about twitter. I can see where it is easy to communicate with others but I can't fathom why anyone would twitter away about inane things.

Thing # 18 Playing around with PBwiki

I posted My Favorite Television show on PBwiki.

Thing # 10

Thing # 1, Thing # 2, Thing # 3

Thing # 1, Thing 2, Thing 3 were not posted but I did do them before posting Thing # 4.

Thing # 17 So what is in a wiki?

I joined the wiki crazw, found that this is something I will use often trying to organize my vast family members scattered across the country for a reunion will they are willing to be wiki1es (?)

Thing # 16 On Library 2.0 & Web 2.0

The term library means much more than a collection of information and a collection of reading for pleasure. We have a vast amount of tools at our hands to obtain just about anything needed or wanted.

One thing that troubles me is that not everyone is able to learn how to access all these tools and if you do it once, it may a long time before you are called upon to apply it again.

It is personnelly very satisfyng to see little and no so little patrons walk out of the building carrying a stack of books that can be read. To rely on audio means the small will have a dificult time learning to read an actual book.

It is good to know many are trying to keep up with the changes in technology and will bear with people like me have need to have hands on experience to conquer the new quests put before .
